A family holiday to Jersey, opening with animated titles. Scenes of the journey to the airport, aeroplanes taxiing in the wet; interiors of the plane - passengers and stewardesses; airborne shots out of the window. Beach scenes on Jersey, the family relaxing in deck chairs; Mr Wintrobe playing with his daughters, Avril and Carole, and playing ball with another man. A sandcastle is seen with a Union Jack, and a young woman in a classic 1960s leopard skin print bikini walks past. Scenes in the hotel garden: the front page of the Daily Express reads 'Russia to Israel: Stop this war and withdraw.' Other scenes around the island: a pottery; the girls are seen sitting in a convertible car; and a trip to 'Devil's Hole'.

Film featuring footage shot at various Whit Walks around Swinton. Rose Queens are seen being crowned and a variety of banner bearing groups march the streets. Children are seen dancing at the crowning ceremonies and crowds watch the festivities. The film continues with footage from the Wright family holiday to Great Yarmouth. The family is seen on a beach and in the sea. The film closes with a close-up of a flower bed.
 
 
 
LIVING IN STYAL

Film about life in Styal. Opens with footage from Manchester, ten miles from Styal, showing heavy traffic and busy shopping areas. Continues with shots of the countryside around Styal, the village and farmland. Places of worship, businesses, a school, the police station and Styal railway station are all seen as is the interior and exterior of The Old Ship Inn. On 12th May 1970, Ethel Gee (one of the Portland Spy Ring) is seen leaving Styal Women's Prison, pursued by camera crews and journalists. She gives a brief interview to the media. Various activities are featured including farming, a cricket match, a football match, a play and an artist at work. A brass band, majorettes and children in fancy dress are seen at a fete and Rose Queen celebrations are featured. There is footage from a jumble sale, Bonfire Night and Remembrance Sunday as well as a Christmas dinner. The film progresses from one summer to the next spring with shots of the area illustrating the seasons, a snowbound Styal is seen prior to shots of recently hatched birds. The film closes with footage of Manchester Airport.

The film begins with footage of a school sack race, followed by footage of a school orchestra. There is then a church procession through the town centre, including the parish priest Father J William Wells, school children, church banners and a group of bagpipes (dressed in Tartan gear).

Richard and William Doherty are seen playing in the sandpit at home with friends and baby brother Peter. Peter Doherty is seen as a baby trying to walk - mainly unsuccessfully. Several years later, the boys are seen in the garden playing with friends, two rabbits, a guinea pig and a tortoise called Fred.
 
 
 
[CONSTRUCTION OF THE LIVERPOOL TO WALLASEY TUNNEL]

Scenes from the ceremonial cutting of the first sod for the Liverpool to Wallasey Tunnel, January 1966 are followed by views of construction work on the tunnel. Men are seen laying concrete, and a tunnelling machine is seen in operation as concrete blocks are manoeuvred into place. Scenes as the two ends of the tunnel meet in the middle conclude.

Beginning with a family party for a Golden Wedding anniversary, the film also includes two weddings, planes at Manchester Airport, children in a playground, and a trip to London. There are scenes at Crewe station, where a group of young rail enthusiasts watch a variety of trains and engines go past.
 
 
 
[HOLIDAYS IN ANGLESEY 1966, MORECAMBE 1967 AND DOLGOCH 1969]

Holiday scenes from the Fisher family. The film opens with scenes in the back garden of the family home in East Didsbury. Mr Fisher uses ladders to make an elaborate construction of monkey bars and the boys have fun climbing all over them. We then see the family on holiday at Glanrafon Farm in Anglesey with family friends Alan and Arlene and their children. We see them having a picnic, visiting a livestock market, swimming and playing with kittens. Next we see them on holiday in Morecambe. The boys have fun in the sea playing in a dinghy and swimming and they go on a boat ride on the Lancaster Canal on the 'Lady Fiona' with their grandparents. In North Wales they have a trip on the Talyllyn Railway. At Dolgoch Falls station we see a farmer in his tractor ploughing a field. Mr Fisher and the boys play in the sea, we see them swimming and surfing.
 
 
 
[BOWLING IN FLEETWOOD AND OTHER SCENES]

A group of middle-aged men are seen enjoying themselves at the coast, firstly on the bowling green in Fleetwood; after lunch at the Mount Hotel, they go ten-pin bowling in Blackpool, followed by a stroll along the pier in St Annes.

The girls doing a nativity play in the living room then in a park on the swings with their mother. One of the girls plays the piano while an elderly man entertains the girls with a puppet.

The Greenwood family walk out of a front door into a large garden. Cars arrive outside a church, the Greenwood girls are escorted out from the vehicles and join the wedding party as they pose for the photographer. Shots of Mr Greenwood with the girls raising his glass in toast outside the reception. The bride and groom leave the reception and enter their car, departing the party. Footage of a girl on a swing then brief shots of a putting green.
 
 
 
[BARROW BY RAY GOSLING AND RUSSEL SPURR]

The film is a Granada production of Ray Gosling's look at Barrow, its industry and people. The narrator talks about Vickers shipyard, with shots of men working in the factories. Other shots include, a brass band playing the Mary Poppins soundtrack, men singing folk songs in a pub, and a children's school trip to Furness Abbey.
 
 
 
[LEACH FAMILY SCENES]

Family scenes from the Leach family, the film begins with shots of baby Andrew being taught to walk by various family members in the garden. There are more garden scenes, the children play, put up a tent and eat at a picnic table. Baby Andrew is in his walker and we see Dad washing the car. We see Andrew in a cot in the garden too, and later being given a bath. The garden scenes are followed by scenes from Christmas 1967. We see the children putting up their stockings on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas morning we see them with their new toys. There are winter scenes, the children play in their snow covered garden. We also see them sledging and being pushed in a wheelbarrow. There are holiday scenes. We see the family out in the hills and on the beach. They play crazy golf and they ride on space hoppers. Back home we see the children playing in the garden and in the house.

The Mather and Platt Hydrostat Can Steriliser is seen, as well as a machine for packing jars of coffee.
 
 
 
OLD ENGLISH CRAFTS; MAKING HAY RAKES [TADLEY]

Ernest Sims makes a wooden hay rake using traditional methods and tools in his workshop outside a thatched cottage in Tadley, Hampshire. This dying craft has been carried out by his family for the past 200 years, and Mr Sims is shown making all aspects of the rake, from the "tines" (teeth) to the split "stale" (handle). There are brief shots of a man using a Lancashire-style hay rake in a field at the beginning and end of the film.
