At Christmas, the Garners are seen exchanging presents - including a Tandberg tape recorder for Roy. In Bank Square in Wilmslow, we see Clegg's shop just prior and during demolition and Mr Jones of Halliday Meecham architects checking the Garners' shop nearby will not be adversely affected by the work. Jarvis building firm starts work on the new building and the film ends with a trip to Bodnant Garden, North Wales. The Hodkinson family at home in Marple and on holiday in the Lake District, Blackpool and North Wales. Jane and Christine fly kites on a beach and paddle in the sea on a grey day. After shots of a royal visit to Manchester, with Royal Guards parading down Princess Street, there are holiday scenes featuring Blackpool, Lowther Wildlife Park, castles around Penrith, and the Lake District. Domestic scenes include the girls playing in the garden with a puppy, birthday parties and relatives visiting at Christmas. There is brief footage of Blackpool illuminations and the film concludes with visits to Conway, Swallow Falls, Llandudno and Anglesey. Assorted footage featuring members of the Hodkinson family. Opens with a visit to Holker Hall in Cumbria, with views of the house and grounds. At Cleveleys, a big crowd turns out to watch Concorde flying low along the coast. Dorothy is shown with her granddaughters enjoying the rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and there are also shots of the sea front and Illuminations. Comedian Frank Carson arrives by helicopter at the Rossall School fete in Fleetwood, which also features a parachute demonstration. At Fleetwood, a steamer departs for the Isle of Man and a lifeboat is launched. Also features scenes in Scarborough, Knaresborough and Gretna Green. [STEVEN, PHILIP AND FAMILY]

Richard's christening was held on the 5th of September 1971. Friends and family can be seen arriving at St Wilfrid's Church in Grappenhall. After the service, guests make their way to a restaurant for a meal. The film cuts to scenes of Steven riding a mini motorbike in a field. In December, the family celebrate Philip's birthday with a football themed birthday cake. Later, the family can be seen arriving at Hartford Hall in Northwich. Richard's grandmother takes him out for a walk in his pram. Back at home, Richard plays with his stuffed toys. In May 1972, the family go on holidays to Cemaes in Wales where they stay at the Woburn Hill guest house. On the beach, Steven and Philip play football with their grandmother. They go swimming in the sea followed by building sandcastles. The family celebrate Richard's 1st birthday with a mouse themed cake. Out in the garden, Richard plays with his toys and with his brothers.
 
 
 
[HOPWOOD FAMILY SCENES - CHRISTMAS, WEDDING, ZOO, BEACH]

A compilation of scenes from the Hopwood Family. A large group of family members spend Christmas together packed in to a small sitting room, there are domestic scenes in the kitchen as food is prepared and the washing up is done. We see a couple in the garden, he does the gardening while she puts out the washing. There are family wedding scenes and we see the family out and about on various daytrips. They take a trip to the zoo where we see various animals, and there are countryside scenes where a large group of family members have picnics, sunbathe and go for walks. There are beach scenes too, where the family relax on the beach and eat ice creams on the seafront.
 
 
 
[BARROW PARADE 1972; IT'S A KNOCKOUT 1971]

A police car leads troupes of dancers at the beginning of the Barrow parade followed by brass bands, people in fancy dress, decorated floats with carnival queens and several kazoo bands. We next see the kazoo bands on the carnival showground marching in elaborate formations and the Carnival Queens sat on their thrones. Scenes from the TV show 'It's a Knockout' featuring competitors collecting buckets of water whilst wearing roller-skates, heading footballs past a goalkeeper on a trampoline and doing an obstacle course carrying a ladder.
 
 
 
[BOLTON BOYS IN TURKEY]

Campsite scenes from the Bolton School Boys holiday in Turkey. Seaviews then the boys preparing and cooking over a fire. Next we see the boys boarding a coach then sat on a wall eating. Exploring the ancient ruins of Troy including an ampitheatre and the Temple of Hadrian. More campsite scenes followed by the boys sat at a cafe then looking at soome more ancient ruins. A local man cooks lamb on a spit over burning coals followed by the boys sleeping and eating at the campsite.
 
 
 
[SADDLEWORTH MUSICAL SOCIETY - DIE FLEDERMAUS & YEOMAN OF THE GUARD]

The Saddleworth Musical Society's production of ' Die Fledermaus' with the stage crew painting the scenery, hanging cloths and adjusting the lighting followed by full dress rehearsals with an orchestra. A production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'Yeoman of the Guard' in 1972 with performers in costume being photographed for the programme. Backstage crew hanging lights and building the scenery followed by rehearsals of the operetta.
 
 
 
[CANAL BOAT HOLIDAY AND STEAM RALLY]

The Moston boys on a canal boat holiday on the Trent and Mersey canal, we see the boys opening locks and passing boats as they sail through the countryside. At a steam rally we see vintage tractors, cars and motorbikes as well as various steam traction engines. Returning to the canal boat we pass through the Thurlwood Steel Lock and cross an aqueduct.

Members of the Young People's Fellowship at Hatherlow devise and star in their own film. Opens with a short comic sketch before the opening titles in which a young boy on the street peers through a window and is scared off by a "lion". A subcommittee then discusses how to make a film that could be shown at club meetings. Each member has a different idea; a spoof tour of Romiley, games and activities at the club, a Frankenstein monster carrying off a girl from a churchyard and a James Bond-style movie featuring a car with special gadgets.
