[SHIPBREAKING AND DEMOLITION AT MERSEY DOCKS]

Workers for Pemberton and Carlyon Civil and Marine Dismantlers perform demolition and ship-breaking work at the Mersey Docks and Runcorn with the aid of cranes and oxy-acetylene torches. Opens with work on the remains of HMS Eaglet at Garston and the demolition of Wiggs Works in Runcorn. Back at the Mersey docks, a landing stage is dismantled and a crane lifts girders away. At Birkenhead docks, a floating crane loads a pontoon into the hold of a cargo ship. Ends with the removal of cranes situated on the North East Queens Dock Sheds. Scenes at the Lytham Motive Power Museum, an air show at Blackpool and a street parade for Blackpool's Centenary. Opens with views of steam engines, planes, (including Guy Gibson's Lancaster bomber) and other artefacts at the Lytham museum. The Red Arrows take part in an air show at Squires Gate airfield where other planes are also on display. Finally there is a children's carnival in Blackpool featuring a fancy dress competition judged by Miss World, carnival floats and fleeting appearances by Charlie Cairoli and Tom Baker as Dr Who. A Huwood Hudswell experimental locomotive emerges from a workshop and is tested on a short length of track. The driver then uncouples one of the three engines for more testing. The reel concludes with a close look at the gauges and the interior of the engine.

Outside a playground, the Kelsall children feed the birds. At home in the living room, the children practice headstands. On Christmas morning we see the children opening their presents followed by a game of pool. Extended family get together for Christmas dinner. In the next scene the family go to see the King Orry ship aground near Glasson Dock. The film cuts to a snow-covered garden where the children build a snowman. On a trip to Scotland they visit Edinburgh castle. At a sports day children and parents take part in various races. In the next scene, crowds gather on the street to catch a glimpse of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip as they drive past in the Royal car. In the next scene, we see a hot air balloon taking off and later people parachuting. The film ends with the children feeding deer in a park.

Scenes from a year in Bollington. Winter landscape scenes of snow on the hills, a cricket match in the snow and people sledging. Then into spring with scenes of blossom on the trees and boys fishing. Shots of a swan, and close up shots of sheep, flowers and the waterfall in Rainow. In summer there are scenes of a tractor in a field and workers hay-making. In Autumn there are scenes of the participants in the Remembrance Day Parade before the parade takes place, and then the parade itself followed by the Remembrance Day Ceremony where wreaths are laid on the war memorial. There are also scenes of a barrel rolling event with brief shots of other games such as hammer throwing, and then a game of tug of war. There is a shot of children riding donkeys, and close up shots of berries on a tree, flowers and butterflies. The film ends with another cricket match in the snow.

This film follows the adventures of Martie, a Golden Labrador, after his arrival on a farm. He is seen playing in the snow and in a spring garden as the crocuses and daffodils are starting to flower. He then attempts to befriend the other animals on the farm, and the local wildlife, with mixed results. He meets a fierce Welsh Border Collie and encounters lambs, sheep, cows, a frog, kittens (before he is chased off by a very angry cat), ducks, geese, hens, chicks and a hedgehog. This film is set to music.
 
 
 
[MARTIE WITH PUPPIES AND OTHER DOGS]

The adventures of Martie the Golden Labrador. We see Martie and another Golden Labrador with her puppies on the farm. When the puppies are a little bigger we see them playing in the garden. There are a variety of dogs of all shapes and sizes and they all play happily together. They chase each other and play fight and play with a ball and rubber ring. There are close up shots of a blue tit pecking at a piece of cheese and later at a foil milk top which he pecks through to get at the cream. Martie is seen digging in an earth bank where he finds a baby rabbit. He brings the baby rabbit out of it's burrow but he doesn't seem to mean any harm, he licks the rabbit and eventually he lets it run away. A man is filmed feeding a tame raven, the cat turns up to investigate and the man feeds them both. Then Martie arrives and chases them both away. A man sunbathes in the garden, Martie licks his bare feet and then eventually settles down to sunbathe with him.
 
 
 
[SETTLE TO CARLISLE TRIP - SCENERY AND WENNINGTON]
