Film of a tree planting ceremony in Cuerden Park near Whittle -le - Woods. Eighty oak trees are planted to commemorate the Queen Mother's 80th birthday and National Tree Planting Week. Children from Clayton - le - Woods C of E Primary School are seen walking into the park, and preparing to plant the trees, one boy is interviewed. Sir Frank Pearson is seen arriving, he makes a speech and plants a tree, the children plant their trees. Various officials and teachers are also present from the Central Lancashire Development Corporation (now known as English Partnerships). As everyone leaves the park part of Sir Frank's speech is heard again. Closes with a close-up of a tree.

Afghan Hounds are seen at Crufts and two other indoor dog shows [one is probably Belle Vue, Manchester]. There are views of the queues outside Earl's Court and general views of the interior. The dogs are seen being prepared by their owners, paraded around the arena and inspected by the judges, who give prizes to the winners. The winner at Crufts is seen entering the main arena at Earl's Court.

Student documentary profiling the life and work of Ted Roocroft, a former pig keeper turned sculptor. The artist is seen at the Chelford animal market seeking inspiration, and working on a new pig-themed sculpture at his home at Lower Peover. Roocroft also taught sculpture at Manchester Polytechnic.
 
 
 
OLD ENGLISH CRAFTS CAPTURED FOR POSTERITY; THE ART OF THE CLOCK MAKER; CRAFTSMAN BILL ALLONBY

The restoration of an eighteenth century clock focussing on the skills and tools of one clockmaker, Bill Allonby. The clock movement is shown being dismantled, the parts are cleaned and re-assembled. A fault is repaired using a hand lathe and the corrected movement is tested. The painted clock dial is examined and the film cuts to an artist's studio where a Mrs Tennant restores and repaints the clock face. The film ends with Allonby and the owner admiring the renovated grandfather clock in the owner's home. ROYAL BRITISH LEGION REMEMBERS 9TH NOVEMBER 1980

Remembrance Sunday service and wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial in Burnley Town Centre on November 9th 1980. The crowds, including war veterans, British Legion flagbearers, and representatives from the armed services, gather outside the William Thompson Recreation Centre. Civic dignitaries arrive for the service in which several wreaths are laid as a military band plays in the foreground. The film concludes with the band leading a parade of military personnel and veterans through the streets of Burnley. Light-hearted look at the 'activities' of the Stockport Cine Society. The society looks for a new venue following the eviction from their old premises by the council (in order to build a swimming pool and leisure centre). After relocating to High Lane Village Hall, an attempt to improve the refreshments at the society gradually results in cine activities being abandoned in favour of gourmet cooking and dining. Includes footage of construction work on the swimming pool in central Stockport. This film won a commendation at the IAC North West region's annual film show in 1980.

Tongue-in-cheek look at Stockport Cine Society's outing on the Macclesfield canal. Travelling from Poynton to Marple, the Chairman opts to travel by dinghy, John Newton's freshly caught fish is stolen, and the Treasurer has a mishap in the High Lane tunnel. On arrival at Marple locks, the club's ladies sit knitting, whilst club members attempt to empty the lock using two buckets.
