Student documentary looking at the increase in the use of closed circuit television in Britain. The use of cameras in Burnley town centre to reduce crime is examined, as well as covert surveillance in the workplace and the reaction of residents to the introduction of cameras on a run-down estate in Manchester. Includes interviews with Simon Davies from Privacy International, who argues that the increase in the use of cctv is an infringement of people's civil liberties.

Student documentary looking at food distribution to supermarkets in Britain and how it has moved away from local producers to centralised depots. The main example cited is that of a consignment of carrots - from Preston, a lorry sets off to collect them from Suffolk, they are brought back to Preston to be washed and bagged, before being sent to a supermarket in Ipswich, a round trip of over 550 miles in order to end up 16 miles from where they were harvested. Includes interviews with the supermarkets, the distributors and transport pressure groups.

Alan and Madge are married, but are both having extramarital affairs - Alan with Liz, and Madge with Ted. The two couples almost bump into each other on several occasions whilst conducting clandestine meetings. Alan and Ted meet in the street, and turn out to be old friends, although neither is aware of what the other is up to. They arrange to go out as a foursome, but on arrival, Alan and Madge immediately find out about the other's affair. An almighty row breaks out between them, during which their respective lovers go off together.

To be used in conjunction with specialist training manuals, this film demonstrates the operation of the Cotton Spinning Mule at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
