Doug and Joan Rendell on holiday in France with Doug's sister June and her husband. They are seen in Paris - on the Champs-Elysees, at the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. They are then in and around Deauville and Trouville, driving through the town and countryside in an open-topped car, choosing post-cards, on the beach, at the swimming pool, shopping in the market and at the harbour watching the fishermen repairing their nets. Finally, the car is loaded onto the ferry, and they are seen on board, enjoying the journey home.

Salford Lads' Club boys are seen arriving at London Road Station in Manchester to go to camp in Aberystwyth. On arrival, they are seen washing and presenting themselves for inspection. A bugler calls them all to dinner, the postman delivers letters and they go swimming in the nearby river. A farmer is seen dipping his sheep, and there are scenes of the lads and adults playing cricket, deck tennis, and generally larking about. On the last day, the tents are all taken down, and the lads head for the station and board the train home.
 
 
 
GRANGE PARK GIRLS IN THE LAKE DISTRICT 1950

Schoolgirls from Grange Park School, St Helens board a bus for their annual summer holiday in the Lake District. The girls take a walk, pick flowers, emerge from Langdale Church and attend an outdoor service at White Craggs, Clappersgate. A walk via Tarn Hows, feeding lambs and paddling in the lake, before arriving at Hawkshead with views of Ann Tyson's Cottage, the Church of St Michael and All Angels and Bend or Bump Cottage. More paddling in Ullswater and a visit to the working slate quarry on Lingmoor Fell. The girls put on a fancy dress parade, laugh as their teachers mess about, and further scenes of paddling, walking and singing. [GIRL GUIDES RELAY MESSAGE OF GOODWILL]

Records the passing on of scrolls (believed to represent the Girl Guides World Conference Message of Goodwill Oxford 1950 to Luxembourg) by girl guides in Lancashire. On a country road, a scroll is passed by a guide group to two guides on horseback who ride off past a bus on its way to Burnley. The film cuts to two horse-drawn carts taking girl guides through the cobbled streets of a town (possibly Burnley). They present a scroll to a guide leader who unfurls the message for others to see. The film ends with shots of girls dressed as witches who approach the second cart and are given a scroll. Away from the site, the finds are examined. These include bone fragments, arrowheads, coins, an urn and what look like stone hammer heads.
