Brief scenes from a London to Brighton Vintage Car Rally, then different vintage Rolls Royce and Bentley cars take part in a "Concours d'Elegance," probably at Oulton Park in Cheshire. The family take a holiday in the Loire valley, watching Bastille day celebrations and visiting a vintage car museum. There is also footage of the Le Mans 24-hour car race, with the drivers coming in for pit-stops during the race. The Oldham Carnival parade passes down Abbey Hills Road in Oldham, and there are further views of a vintage car rally at Oulton Park. The family are seen at home at Christmas in 1967, the children play with their toys, and there are scenes from their youngest daughter's first birthday party.

Reel of assorted North West footage - holiday makers queuing for coaches in Wigan are followed by scenes at the fairground in Southport and on the beach at Blackpool. A number of different schools are seen with children of varying ages participating in different lessons, at a sports day, on a field trip and in the playground. Scenes at Leyland Motors with lorries on the test track and views of the factory floor are followed by interior views of a cotton mill at Coppull. The film ends with a Walking Day in Chorley and brief views of first-aid training by children.

Boy scouts and wolf cubs listen to speeches from the Mayor and the Chief Scout before a tree-planting ceremony. He meets various leaders and troops, hands out badges, and a Scottish band perform. The Scout Leader meets veterans and the boys take part in activities and games including dry slope skiiing, enamelling metal and first aid demonstrations. A Scouts Own ceremony takes place including music from a brass band. Certificates are handed out and the Scout Leader receives the gift of a picture on stage. Cubs board the Ffestiniog Railway at Porthmadog and Mr Smith films their journey as they pass through Minffordd and stop at Tan-Y-Bwlch. Footage of the boys staying on the Coniston Hall campsite in the Lake District. They hike up to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston and also do some rock climbing. They drive to Tarn Hows and build shelters in the woods. Next, scenes from the trip to Coniston the following year. They brush their teeth at the lakeside, go for a hike and stop for a picnic. MODERN GERIATRICS

Film looking at the work of geriatric departments which are having to deal with increasing numbers of elderly people and their needs. Patients are seen being assessed at home, at doctors' surgeries and clinics, as well as receiving treatment in hospital. Patients receive occupational and physiotherapy, new false teeth and limbs are fitted, and eye tests and dietary advice are given with a view to them either returning home or moving into new accommodation. Staff meetings to discuss and monitor the progress of patients are also featured.

Scenes from an anti-Polaris demonstration at Cammell Lairds shipyard from the late 1960s. Includes protesters assembling in Liverpool, marching through the city centre and crossing on the ferry. Various Nightingale family days out including skating at Tarn Hows, swimming at Fell Foot, Windermere and walking in several locations including Castlerigg Stone Circle and Tilberthwaite. The Nightingale children are seen in a rowing boat, Peter Nightingale mends a canoe in the garden, and there are views of September flooding close to Lake Windermere, Rossall Point seafront on a windy day and the family skiing at Kirkstone. Also includes scenes from a South Coast holiday, a charity 'Cross Bay Walk' at Morecambe Bay, the Nightingale family in the garden, and children swimming in the River Dudden and cooking sausages on nearby rocks.

The young Hodkinson girls are filmed in a variety of locations. They are seen at home in Marple playing with toys, waiting in the rain with their mother to wave at the Queen in 1968, and on Christine's birthday. There are scenes from Marple Carnival before shots of the family on holiday, including a visit to Colwyn Bay. Back in Marple, the family get together at Christmas with the girls singing in front of the tree, and there are shots of Christine's second birthday. A look at the redevelopment and reconstruction of Manchester in the late 1960s, with scenes of slum clearances and the construction of modern high density blocks. Features the official openings of Artillery Court in Ardwick on 18th March 1967 and of Park Court in Wythenshawe. There is footage shot from inside a car as it travels along the Mancunian Way, of derelict houses and of architects models. On a site in Hulme, construction processes are shown and visitors look round some of the new flats before the film concludes with firemen tackling a blaze in a scrapyard. Footage of cycling, camping and walking trips taken by the Lloyd family in Cheshire and the Lake District. Young Caroline plays in a garden before the family leave their house in Hollins Green on fully-laden bicycles. They take tea at a cafe in Over Peover and then reach a stream where a water vole is spotted. Thereafter several camping scenes, including the family eating a meal of egg and beans, are interspersed with shots of family walking expeditions, one of which is near the Langdale Pikes. Lake and boating scenes follow; and the boys are seen playing in an outdoor pool. Brief final shots of the family at their caravan.
 
 
 
SCRAGG PRESENTS THE SUPER SET MACHINE

Promotional film which looks at the Scragg Super Set machine, used in the spinning of various natural and man made fibres. There are close ups of the machine in operation, finished fabrics being cut and different commercial weaves are modelled for the camera. Ends with a new machine being loaded for export to the USA and driven off down a motorway.

[EMPRESS OF CANADA CRUISE TO CANADA]

Family and friends wave to passengers aboard a Canadian Pacific ship, the Empress of Canada, cruising to Quebec, Canada. There is a glimpse of the Liver Building as the liner departs Liverpool's quayside and the Maid of Cumbrae ferry is seen. After a lifeboat drill and a visit to the bridge, passengers play deck games. In Canada they sail up the St Lawrence River to visit Quebec, taking in views of the Chateau Frontenac Hotel and Quebec City Bridge. In Montreal there are views of the Biosphere and other buildings built for Expo 67 on St Helen's Island. They visit the amusement park on the island. The Chateau Closse sleeper train is taken through the Rockies and there is a visit to the Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
 
 
 
[SCENES ON A CRUISE LINER]

Passengers are on board a Canadian Pacific cruise ship playing deckgames, walking in the sun lounge and sunbathing on deck. Views of the sea from the ship. Passengers stroll around the deck and are seen talking and laughing with the Captain. Towards the end, one of the passengers is collecting apples in their garden and playing with the dog. There are some shots of Liverpool's Trafalgar Docks and a dredger on the River Mersey, then people eating ice creams on a day out.
