The film also includes scenes of people sitting on benches in Piccadilly Gardens; stall holders and shoppers at Cross Lane Market in Salford and various animals in their compounds at Belle Vue Zoo. Also features three weddings; local children playing on the swings and roundabouts in Ordsall Park and a shot of a man selling ice creams from the back of a horse-drawn cart in the middle of a terraced street.

Concludes with a close up shot of a leaflet about Cliff House, a retirement home for ex-marines, situated in Wallasey Cheshire.

Opening with shots of mechanical diggers clearing rubble this film centres on redevelopment in Beswick. People are seen removing furniture from condemned houses. A group of boys are seen struggling to move a table - they saw its legs off, allowing it to fit through a window and transport it on a pram. Children are seen playing amongst rubble and playing football in a street. An elderly woman provides an emotive commentary, bemoaning the destruction of community spirit. Closes with footage of children building a bonfire and then standing near it, at night, waving sparklers.

Scenes of Bradley Nursery School's Christmas party; December 1968. Features footage of the school hall decorated with a Christmas tree and trimmings. The children wear party hats and are seen standing around tables laden with food and drinks. Continues with shots of the staff getting the children ready to perform as angels and soldiers around the Christmas tree. Also features footage of the children waving out of the window at Father Christmas. He arrives carrying a sackful of presents which he distributes to the children. Concludes with footage of the children playing with their new toys. Includes a shot of the Mayor and Mayoress waving goodbye to the children as they leave the party.

The film shows scenes from the 1968 Veteran Car Rally which ran from Manchester Town Hall to Blackpool - there are only shots on Quay Street and Irwell Street in Manchester. Veteran cars of all shapes and sizes are seen driving down the road. One breaks down, and can be seen being repaired in the background before re-joining the rally. There are veteran cars, vans, buses, hearses and three wheelers are seen during the film. It ends with an apparently unrelated shot of the country.
