A woman and a young boy walk along the promenade of Parkgate before returning to their parked car. Next they visit Thurstaston and go for a walk before visiting the beach where they throw stones into the sea. The man with them can be seen wearing a military uniform. In the next scene, the group are in Wales where they visit Swallow Falls and Valle Crucis Abbey. In Winsford, a group of people can be seen sitting outside a lodge. Out on the river, some people can be seen in a rowing boat while others are in an inflatable boat. On the beach, the group play football, cricket and enjoy a picnic together. The film ends with the boys attempting to fly their toy wind up aeroplanes, the adults don't have much luck either!

The amateur football teams pose for the photographer then the match begins on a muddy park pitch with half time refreshments being ciggarettes, alcohol and cups of tea. Scenic views of the Scottish highlands mountains and lakes, underexposed pub interiors then couples beside a car on a cold but bright Winters' day followed by a car ferry boat crossing a river.

Mrs Derbyshire dressing then feeding a baby then a little boy playing on a terraced street followed by Mrs Derbyshire reading the football results in the newspaper. Two young boys play and watch an elderly man gardening on his allotment. The boy plays with some cotton reels while a man reads the newspaper. After a brief boat trip children roll eggs and then themselves down a hill in Avenham Park. A group of men sit and drink in a pub then Mrs Derbyshire pushing a pram through a park with the family dog beside her.
 
 
 
FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES 1949-50

Film commemorating the Holy Infant's School football achievements, in Bolton between 1949-50. Junior and senior schoolboy teams are seen practicing outside on a muddy pitch. Mr Lomax, the games teacher, discusses tactics and poses with the team for a group photograph. The second half of the film features scenes from a football match held at Burnden Park Stadium on the 5th April 1952. The Holy Infant's senior team win the George Fell cup, by beating Sunning Hill 3 : 2. Jimmy Ginty scores the winning goal ten minutes before the end of the match. Includes interior shots of Bolton Wanderers dressing room, where Councillor George Fell presents the trophy to the winning team.

Begins by briefly touching on reasons for the canal's construction, then concentrates on the means by which the Manchester Ship Canal is an efficient transporter of a great variety of cargoes. Depicts cargo handling equipment and storage facilities along the canal, and closeness to good road and rail communications. Reflects international nature of trade. School girls and boys, from Lymm Grammar School, are seen walking across the school playground in pairs. Also features footage of the School Sports day and prize giving ceremony. Includes shots of the competitors participating in the high jump, long jump, sprint and relay events. Concludes with team shots of the school hockey, football, tennis and cricket teams.
 
 
 
IN THE SERVICE OF YOUTH 1950/1 BLACKPOOL BOYS' CLUB

This film promotes the benefits of being a member of the Blackpool Boys' Club. The film opens with scenes of a boy aimlessly wandering the streets until he stumbles upon the Blackpool Boys' Club, and then we see all that the club has to offer. The 'junior' and 'senior boys' have separate activities, they include boxing, snooker, gymnastics, football, table tennis, drawing, painting and watching films. The juniors visit Morecambe with a group of visiting Austrian children and the seniors go to Windemere. We also see them playing cricket and football matches against other youth clubs. The film ends with scenes from a management committee meeting where all of these activities are planned.

Various scenes centred around the new baby of the Jones family. Baby Marion is seen with other family members in a park, at her christening, playing with children and a dog, at the beach and at her 1st Birthday Party. In other scenes, children play rounders in a field of long grass and brownies return from a coach trip. The final section in colour sees Marion on a swing and children playing football in a field in Ulverston, before the film ends with family scenes in Newsham Park in Liverpool. [LAKE DISTRICT AND SPORTS]

The film opens with scenes of Elterwater in the Lake District, we see the Britannia Inn and the surrounding scenery. We then see a cricket match and a school sports day, school boys take part in running races and sack races while spectators look on. There follow scenes of a roadside picnic. A family are parked up by the side of a country road and they laugh while their little dog eats a big cake all to himself. We then see the family picking berries which they collect in bags. A couple are seen walking away from the Patterdale Hotel in Patterdale and then there are scenes of the local area and of the family climbing up hills and over rocks while very smartly dressed. The family go on trips to Carlisle and Keswick, we see the sights of Carlisle and street scenes from Keswick. There is a close up shot of a penny farthing bike, which looks to have been left parked up by it's owner. We see a man and some boys shovelling something from the back of a lorry, and the film ends with scenes of two boys playing football in the garden.

A mixture of scenes from a school sports day and a trip to the Lake District. We also see a cricket match and two boys playing football in the back garden. The sports day scenes include running races, egg and spoon races and a tug-of-war. Afterwards the winners are presented with trophies. The scenes from the Lake District show the family hillwalking in their smart clothes and we see the scenery around Langdale. The cameraman jokingly films from a moving car as a lady chases after them. We also see shots from Gretna Green, the sign on the Blacksmith's Shop reads 'This is the famous Old Blacksmith's Shop and Marriage Room Gretna Green'.
 
 
 
[GILWELL PARK QUEEN SCOUTS' CAMPING TRIP, NORTH WALES]

The Gilwell Park Queen Scouts are seen on a camping trip in North Wales: sailing, cooking at the campsite, walking in the hills (possibly Trer Cein on the Llyn Peninsular), swimming, sunbathing and competing in team games such as tug-of-war. The scouts are also shown participating in a street procession. Interspersed are brief shots of steam engines, animals in a zoo and London streetscenes.

Swift family at home with general scenes of baby being fed, children and adults relaxing in living room and playing outside posing for the camera. Scenes from a game of crown green bowls and the presentation of trophies to the winners. Views of Blackpool from Central Pier and people on the promenade. Exteriors of Deepdale the home of Preston North End and match action in front of a large crowd of spectators.
