Pupils from Lymm Grammar School are seen competing in a cross country run; a boys v girls hockey match; various field and track events and a game of netball. Also features construction work on the new block of classrooms; a boy scout camp; the opening of the new outdoor swimming pool; a skiing holiday and interior shots of a boys woodwork class. Staff and pupils are also seen 'Digging for Victory' in the school grounds. The film concludes with scenes of a camping trip - the children are seen getting off a bus with their camping gear and sleeping bags; pitching the tents; preparing a meal; washing up and clearing away the rubbish.

Carnival Day celebrations at the British Legion Astley Bridge branch - a fancy dress parade; children's' ballet display; the crowning of the carnival queen, Miss Irene Holden, by the president JL Gratrix; a procession of civilians wearing medals and carrying flags.

Footage of family events throughout the years between 1939-1950. The film begins with children in a garden playing with a dog and net fishing by a river. Then on a beach, adults play catch with a hoop, eat apples and swim in the sea. A little girl accompanied by the adults getting into a car on the promenade, then shown in the garden with a rabbit. Uncle Dick's wedding begins with the groom and best man arriving at the church, followed by bridesmaids, friends and family. The bride arrives at the church, has official photographs taken with her husband and wedding guests before departing under confetti. Views of a sea front, sailing, building a snowman and fly fishing are then shown, followed by children playing in the sand in Tenby, South Wales. This film ends with shots of the family in the garden with their pet dogs. then paddling in the sea and enjoying pony rides on the beach.

Men and women in civil defence uniform carry out a First Aid exercise in a bombed building, rescuing 'casualties' and carrying them on stretchers to a van and on to hospital.
