Scenes from a wedding are followed by the 1st Pendlebury Boy Scouts enjoying Whit Week camp at Tawd Vale Camp, Lancashire - setting up, swimming in the lake, playing football and cricket and larking around. The Guide and Brownie District Sports Day - with various races and a high jump contest is followed by the North West Area Finals of the Soap Box Derby in Salford. There's a trip to Belle Vue Zoological Gardens for the cubs and brownies with views of the various animals and an acrobatic display, miniature railway, boat trip and funfair. Scenes from a scout and guide trip to North Wales - paddling in the sea, having a picnic and playing rounders on a beach. CLAY PIPE MAKING

The manufacturing of clay pipes at the John Pollock factory in Manchester, from the raw clay to the finished products. After shots of the raw clay being prepared, there is footage of the clay being rolled into pipe shapes, then hollowed out using moulder's wire, a mould and a gin press. The pipes are trimmed, dried and placed in a kiln, before the mouthpieces of the pipes are painted. Stacks of wooden crates are shown ready for export and a variety of finished pipes are displayed. The film ends with shots of workers smoking their pipes. There are interior and exterior shots of a stately home, as visitors look round, inspect a stuffed bear, and a family plays in the grounds. The holidaymakers are seen walking in the mountains and eating a picnic. They pose for a group photo outside Alltshellach guest house, play party games and enjoy country dancing. Three people swim in a cove before the group visit Rogie Falls via Strathpeffer Guest House. After leaving the castle, they are presented to representatives from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and the Lancaster Royal Grammar School, amongst others. The royal party visit the town hall, where the King inspects troops, and the film ends with dignitaries and guests leaving the town hall and the crowds drifting away from Dalton Square.
